De l'espace aux grands espaces

From space to rural regions – Mission accomplished at EFFERVESCENCE MTL 2025!

At Effervescence MTL 2025, which TransMedTech Institute was sponsoring again this year, we took off… but it was on Earth that we wanted to land!

The objective: to explore how space technologies can revolutionize healthcare in rural areas.

An audacious panel and three powerful voices:

Dr Richard Fleet (field doctor), who highlighted the critical challenges of access to healthcare in rural areas.

Laure Boyer (MEDES – Institute for Space Medicine and Physiology), who reminded us that space isn’t just for the Moon! Portable ultrasound scanners, nutrition, exoskeletons… so many solutions born for astronauts, now at the service of our communities.

Aurelien Balondona (Baüne), the link between these two worlds. His company adapts space technologies for our hospitals and remote environments.

In conclusion:
It’s time to land innovations where they’re needed most. Let’s build bridges between the sky and wide open spaces, between labs and the field.

A rich exchange on collaborative innovation: derisking, co-developing, sharing!

Thank you to the panellists and all those who are building tomorrow’s healthcare, here and elsewhere.
